Rule 05. Always Have a Receipt and a Bag When You Leave a Store
Listen To This Rule
Narrated by Alex Pierce
Black Americans are more likely to be profiled in stores and accused of shoplifting.
If you’re Black, people may think you’re prone to
stealing
Trayon Christian
Trayon Christian bought a luxury belt from the Barneys Upper East Side store in NYC on April 27, 2013. He was later arrested by undercover NYPD detectives who thought he was shoplifting.
So this is why when you are Black, it’s often necessary to have a bag and a receipt with you when you walk out of a store.
